Digestive
Competence
With our clients, the first thing I check is digestive competence, because
over 90% of the people I consult with either have digestion problems or digest
less than optimally. If you can't assimilate the nutrients from the food you
eat, or the supplements you take, due to poor digestion, the body becomes deficient
of your essential building blocks and performance enhancing nutrients. These
may include vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and essential fatty acids. Putrefaction
(rotting food) and toxins also result from this poor digestion.
If there is one main factor the body needs for optimal digestion, it is enzymes.
Enzymes unlock nutrients from food and supplements, and in most cases are a
key to health, insuring complete and optimal digestion, cellular absorption
of nutrients, and maximum delivery of food and supplemental nutrients for energy
and peak performance. Enzymes have been called the most important nutritional
discovery since vitamins, minerals, and trace elements. Enzymes control all
metabolic processes.
If you lack enzymes, the foods you eat are prone to ferment and putrefy. This
leads to acid indigestion, gas, bloating, diarrhea, constipation and nutritional
deficiencies. To address digestive problems, it is important not to take products
that merely treat symptoms and risk severe side effects. It is more appropriate
to address the underlying root cause of the problem-a deficiency in enzymes.
Many of our clients complained of having to take so many different products
to get their desired results. It was because of this that I created Digestion & Stomach
Upset Support. This formula contains all of these essential nutrients in one
formula: Lipase for digestion of fats, amylase for carbohydrates, and cellulase
for fiber. Acidophilus has been added to enhance the growth of friendly bacterial
bowel flora. Gluco-amalyse, invertase and lactase are added to diminish the
reactions to food allergens such as dairy, wheat and sugar. Slippery elm bark,
marshmallow root, gamma oryzanol, ginger root, green tea, quercetin, licorice
root (DGL), and ajowan oil were added to help soothe and nourish the gastrointestinal
lining and reduce stomach acidity. (Protease, an enzyme for the digestion of
protein, has been left out of this formula because of its irritating effect
on sensitive or inflamed stomach and intestinal linings.)
Digestive competence is fundamental to good health and optimum performance.
In summary, you are not really what you eat, you are what you properly digest
and assimilate.
Minerals
for Proper Metabolism & Biochemical Function
In addition to acting as "building blocks" for our bones, teeth,
muscles, nerves, connective tissues and body fluids, minerals, particularly
the trace elements, as found in the Concentrated
Liquid Ionic Mineral Support serve as co-factors to the enzymes, which catalyze
all of the biochemical reactions that are required for our bodies to function
optimally. In the absence of specific minerals, our bodies compensate for these
nutritional deficiencies by following less efficient, alternative biochemical
pathways. Eventually, these specific deficiency states will cause measurable
body chemistry imbalances. If left unattended, these body chemistry imbalances
will cause a loss of vitality and efficiency in related organs, glands and
inter-related body systems- eventually leading to poor health, symptoms of
degenerative health conditions and ultimately a diminished life experience
and shortened lifetime.
Ionic Minerals support the body's natural processes directly related to:
· Every biochemical process and activity of the body.
· The acid-base balance (pH) of the body.
· Proper cellular metabolism, nerve conduction, muscle function, organ
function, hormonal secretion of glands, digestive competence.
· Activation and utilization of amino acids, carbohydrates, enzymes, fats,
oils, phytochemicals, proteins, sugars, and vitamins.
· Delivery of nutrients into, and removal of wastes from every cell, tissue,
fluid, gland and organ.
· Proper structure and function of the hair, skin, nails and five senses.
· The anti-oxidation process, which protects against aging, degeneration
and dis-ease.
· Protection against toxic heavy metals.
· The "spark" of life energy
One of the most important keys to supporting and preserving human health is
by maintaining balanced levels of ionic minerals present in all the cells and
tissues of the body. Current research shows that underlying most health conditions
are nutrient and mineral deficiencies or imbalances that are eventually expressed
by the body as fatigue and exhaustion, poor physical endurance and performance,
or even symptoms of disease.

Understanding
Joint Disorders & Degeneration
What Is Joint Degeneration?
Joint Degeneration is the inflammation of a joint and it's surrounding tissues,
including the cartilage, ligaments, and tendons. Joint Degeneration can be
caused by numerous dis-ease states and chemistry imbalances, nutritional deficiencies,
genetic disorders, and over-use (wearing-out) of the joints. The joints most
often affected with arthritis are found in the back and spine, neck, shoulders,
elbows, wrists, fingers, hips, knees, ankles, and toes. The most common symptoms
of joint degeneration include painful, limited movement in the affected joint(s),
swelling of the joints, increased heat and redness in surrounding tissues,
and a dry, crackling sensation or sound emanating from the affected joint.
What Causes Joint Degeneration?
Joint Degeneration can be caused by many factors. Nutritional deficiencies
leading to joint degeneration usually involve calcium depletion, or a diet
poor in fresh vegetables and high in acid and mucous-producing foods. Degenerative
joint conditions can also be related to unbalanced body chemistry (acid pH),
imbalances of the body's glands and the hormones they produce, genetic (family)
history, allergic reactions to foods, autoimmune reactions (when the body's
immune system attacks itself), and stressful lifestyles or environments. Other
common causes include osteoporosis (thinning of the bones), and long-term use
of anti-arthritic drugs and over-the-counter pain medications. Anabolic steroids,
used by some body builders, can lead to arthritis-like degeneration of the
joints. Finally, overuse of any joint in the body can cause the wearing down
of the cartilage between two bones (osteoarthritis) or instability of the joint.
Osteoarthritis, also known as degenerative joint disease, is found in many
different joints in the body: but particularly in the knees, neck, back, hips,
and fingers. It commonly causes pain, inflammation, and decreased range of
motion. Considered by western allopathic doctors as an irreversible process
of joint destruction. Western drug treatment, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory
drugs (NSAIDS) such as aspirin and Ibuprofin treat the symptoms of joint pain
and degenerative joint conditions, however, they do not slow the progression
of the disease. In fact, long-term use of NSAID's can cause further joint damage
(decrease bone repair, increase micro-fractures) and can actually accelerate
the progression of osteoarthritis.
Which Nutrients Can Help Joint Disorders & Degeneration?
Nutrients, which I often recommend to patients suffering from degenerative
joint conditions, include glucosamine sulfate, mucopolysaccharides, shark cartilage,
which replace joint 'ground substances' and cause the regeneration of the cartilage
and other joint tissues. The enzyme bromelain and sea cucumber (Beche-de-mer)
have natural anti-inflammatory compounds effective with degenerative joint
conditions. Herbs that I commonly recommend for arthritic conditions include,
white willow bark for natural pain relief; boswellia serrata and feverfew as
natural anti-inflammatory agents; yucca, as a blood purifier; and cat's claw,
to stimulate the immune system and for it's anti-inflammatory and anti-arthritic
properties. These nutrients are found in our Joint
Support formula.
What About Dietary Oils?
Another important group of nutrients related to degenerative joint conditions
are essential fatty acids such as Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids. They come
in the form of both plant and fish oils (evening primrose oil, black currant
seed oil, borage oil, flax seed oil, soy oil, pumpkin seed oil, and various
fish oils). In numerous research studies, these oils have been shown to provide
'lubrication' to the joints, increase elasticity and flexibility and help control
pain and inflammation. It is important that people are digesting fats well
so the body can properly utilize these dietary oils. These dietary oils are
found in our Joint
Lubrication Support formula.
When used in combination, the nutrients in these formulas have been shown in
numerous scientific studies to effectively support healthy cartilage and proper
joint function.
Optimizing
Cellular Energy, Immune & Heart Function
Nutrients for
Energy & The Immune System and Heart Health:
COENZYME Q10
Coenzyme Q10 is a fat-soluble compound that functions as a coenzyme in the
energy-producing pathways in the cells of the body, and as an anti-oxidant
for the body. It is used in every cell of the body. Its coenzyme functions
occur in the mitochondria, where it acts as an essential component of the electron
transport chain, important for energy production. As an antioxidant, CoEnzymeQ10
protects fats, proteins and DNA from oxidative damage. Oral supplementation
of CoEnzymeQ10 can increase blood levels, and studies have shown that supplementation
increases mitochondrial levels of CoEnzymeQ10. Coenzyme Q10 works synergistically
in the body with Vitamin C, Vitamin E & Alpha Lipoic Acid.
COENZYME Q10 is Essential for:
- Healthy cardiovascular function.
- Maintaining healthy immune system function.
- Cellular energy production. Keeping the body's energy production optimal.
- Maintaining healthy Lipoprotein (a) homocysteine levels.
- Providing antioxidant protection to cholesterol (reduces lipid peroxidation).
Levels of CoEnzyme
Q10 diminish:
After Strenuous exercise, upon aging, with chronic disease, when a person takes
certain Rx drugs (Statin drugs to lower cholesterol, Anti-hypertensive drugs
to lower blood pressure, and Anti-depressants.)
L-CARNITINE
Carnitine carries vital fuel (derived from fatty acids) into the cells, where
it can be burned to produce energy. Carnitine also carries waste products (produced
in the cells) out of the cells during the energy production process.
Carnitine is vital to healthy brain, heart, and mitochondrial function.
Carni Q-Gel Energizer Support System supports the body's natural processes
directly related to:
· Energy Production
· Heart Health
· Immune System Function
· Aging
· Periodontal Health
· Oxidative Stress
Cellular energy production in the body absolutely depends on the presence of
CoenzymeQ10 and L-Carnitine.
